- Develop and provide technical standards and guidance in all software development, design and architecture
- Provide design reviews and give technical recommendations
- Create effective and applicable technical solutions that fit business needs and requirements
- Work with teams to plan, prioritize, and complete projects
- Participate in risk assessments and mitigating activities
- Participate in technical audits and ensure the implementation of the recommendations
- Coordinate with the QA to develop test cases, procedures, and plans
- Mentor and coach fellow team members
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or extensive practical experience with software development
- 7+ years of professional experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment such as a startup or rapidly growing company
- Deep understanding and familiarity with functional programming languages (we use Elixir)
- Experience with relational databases (we use Postgres)
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Experience with Elixir/Erlang/Ruby/Go/Rust/Clojure
- Experience with React.js
- Experience with AWS
